Fall is almost here

Fall is almost here... school has started... and High School football and bands are showing their stuff on Friday nights. Vacations are over for most people, except for Linda and me, were taking ours beginning September 5th after worship service until September 12th.

College football has begun, which raises the age old question, how will Carolina do?

When Linda and I were dating, I always looked forward to fall Saturday afternoons sitting on the couch with one arm around her and the remote control in the other hand watching college football. She would quickly fall asleep. It was the best of both worlds (from the males point of view).... Where was I? Oh, yes, the fall.

A lot of wonderful things are taking place this fall:

リThe Hunters Meal and Worship Service will be September 21st. Its a great tradition that you have. Im really looking forward to it.

リThe Fall Festival is October 16th. Another first for me. It sounds great.

リOur Charge Conference will be Sunday, October 24th at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Tim McClendon. Charge Conference is one way to ready ourselves for ministry in the months ahead and the coming year.

リOur Annual Planning Retreat will be November 5th & 6th at the Nazarene Campground. The Rev. Ken Nelson will lead us.

リOur stewardship emphasis will also be a part of our plans during the fall a very important time for the church.

リAn exciting new ministry that we will be participating in is the Hispanic Ministry spearheaded by Emily Sutton. It is just getting off the ground and is gaining direction and momentum. The Conference did well in selecting Emily as pastor of this new church plant located in and supported by the West Metro churches. She will be making a special presentation during our Worship Service on Sunday, September 26th.

Continue to pray for me as I pray for you. We are all fellow laborers in Gods vineyard. Be strong in your walk.

Phil
