Holy Week

This Sunday will mark the beginning of Holy Week. It is referred to as Palm or Passion Sunday. As is our tradition and has been announced, we will join some of our neighboring United Methodist Churches to celebrate Holy Week with special services that, hopefully, will further prepare us for Easter. The visiting preacher for these services will be the Reverend Rusty Taylor. Having served churches in the Holston Annual Conference in Tennessee, Rev. Taylor is presently serving as the Director of Congregational Development for the South Carolina Annual Conference. He is married to Bishop Mary Virginia Taylor and they are the parents of two grown daughters. Services will be held each night at 7:00PM.

The following is the planned schedule for each service:

Sunday, April 9 Brookland UMC - Offering to go to West-Metro Salkehatchie Camp

Monday, April 10 Cayce UMC - Offering to go to West-Metro Hispanic Vacation Bible School

Tuesday, April 11 Trinity UMC--Offering to go to Katrina Relief

Wednesday, April 12 Mt Hebron UMC - Offering to go to God's Helping Hand

*Thursday, April 13 Each church family will gather for their own Maundy Thursday Communion Service at their own church location.

In the past, Trinity has had a less than desirable attendance for these services. Let's not continue that trend and forfeit the blessings of great preaching, fellowship, etc., by allowing "other things" to take precedence over this glorious opportunity to worship with other Christians and fellow United Methodists. For I truly believe that the Lord has a multitude of blessings in store for each one of us at these Holy Week Services. So come on out and let's all make the Lord proud of Trinity's presence and participation.

With Love, From Jesus,

Pastor David
