A Tribute to "Riverbend"

Approximately a year ago the Lord cast a vision in the hearts of some of us for a special mission that has challenged most, if not all of our church family, to step out of our comfort zones. This mission has to do with two of the six goals we set for 2006. They read as follows: (1) Hold quarterly a program for community children. (2) Hold a Sunday School type ministry on a weekly basis at an apartment complex. Shortly after these goals were set, we began to put our "action steps" to work, and by December of 2005 we had almost 80 beautiful children from the "Riverbend" Apartment Complex being influenced with the love of Jesus through our beloved Trinity U.M.C. That was the beginning of a relationship that I believe will last throughout eternity!

The primary reason that I share this "good news" is because this is one of the proudest accomplishments that God has enabled me to experience during my tenure as a pastor. I rise up and salute everyone of you for helping me to be so enriched by such a blessing. To be sure my life will never be the same as a result of the mission at "Riverbend." I trust the same is true for you.

Let us continue to embrace these who deserve as much as any of us to have a church family and who are just as precious in God's sight as you and me. And let us also keep one another in prayer, especially those who sense a stronger call to be more directly involved with this mission, as well as those who feel led to assist in other missions and ministries that are just as valid and important. And hopefully, one day, we'll all hear God's voice saying, "Well done my good and faithful servants!"

With Love From & For Jesus,

Pastor David
