Natural Church Development

What's all the hype about Natural Church Development? I'm glad you asked! How would you like to be a member of a church that grows all by itself? "That's sounds great, sign me up," you say. Well, if God continues to have His way with Trinity, that's exactly the kind of church we can lay claim to.

What do I mean when I say, "if God has His way with Trinity?" I'm glad you asked! I mean if we continue to allow Him to further develop in us the characteristics of a strong healthy church.

Just what are the characteristics that God seeks to develop in us? I'm glad you asked! They are the same characteristics that have characterized every growing church since the early church that the Lord ordained to expand His Kingdom.

They are as follows: (1) Empowering Leadership: which means helping leaders become fully committed to allowing the Holy Spirit to work through them; (2) Gift-Based Ministry: where every Christian seeks to use his or her spiritual gifts to help the church fulfill its God-given mission and ministry; (3) Passionate Spirituality: which is when every member of the Body of Christ strives to live out his or her faith with power and contagious enthusiasm; (4) Functional or Effective Structures: whereby all those ministries within the church are serving the same cause of winning lost souls to Christ; (5) Inspiring Worship Services: Services that are the high point of the week for the whole congregation and not just some; (6) Holistic Small Groups: groups through which the loving and healing power of Christian fellowship can be experienced regularly; (7) Need-Oriented Evangelism: through which every member helps fulfill the "Great Commission"; (8) Loving Relationships: relationships through which the love of Christ permeates all of the activities of the Church.

But pastor, "Do really believe that I can be a member of such a growing church?" I'm glad you asked! Absolutely! Positively! Without a shadow of doubt you and I both can! In fact, I believe we already are to some extent, and for that I am eternally grateful. But be that as it may, as your pastor, I want us to reach our fullest potential in terms of church growth.

Therefore, I am inviting you to join me and the rest of our beloved church family in our efforts to improve our health and well-being. This we hope to do by evaluating our present condition in relation to the eight characteristics mentioned in the paragraph above and by strengthening our weakest or "minimal factor," while striving to maintain a strong healthy level in the remaining seven.

In the meantime, stay tuned for more "hype" to come!

With Love From Jesus,

Pastor David
