Can He Count on You?

My, my, my how the seasons come and go! It seems like it was just yesterday when everything outdoors was still in a dormant state. The birds and the bees were less active. The flowers and the trees were bloomless. Everything seemed to be lifeless. And then, all of a sudden, the whole neighborhood was resurrected. Yes, winter is gone and spring has sprung.

Except for that "yellowy powder stuff" that covers and smothers every crook and cranny, I find myself wanting to shout, "Hallelujah." Yes, I get excited about this particular time of the year because of the obvious. Not only is it spring, but, more important, the most holy season of the Christian faith is upon us, whereby we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Does it get any more exciting than this for those of us who believe as we do that Christ died and rose again to bring us salvation and eternal life? I should say not!

As the days count down to Easter, it is so easy to let this sacred time become less than it is meant to be. Therefore, I invite you to join me in not allowing this Holy Season to take a backseat to the secular world.

I also invite that you to join me in praying, planning and preparing for the special times of worship such as the Community Holy Week Services, Maundy Thursday Service, West Metro Easter Service, and, of course, our regular Easter Sunday Morning Service.

Yes, I know this is asking a lot for us to commit to, but if memory serves me well, Jesus was ridiculed, spat upon, falsely accused, beaten beyond recognition and crucified on a cross to give us such a privilege. So, can I count on you? Or better yet, can He, who lived, died and rose again?

In the Blessed Name of the Risen Savior,

Pastor David

Verse to Meditate On: John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (NIV)
