What Can Stewardship do for Our Church?

There is much written in the Gospel that can help us understand the concept of Christian Stewardship. Stewardship offers a way to invite all people to become more aware of Jesus Christ, His example and how through Stewardship we can become authentic Disciples of Christ. As we have introduced in the past few weeks, through commitments of Time, Talents, Treasures and Trust, we hope that you have discovered that we all have room to grow spiritually and that our faith can certainly be deepened.

If the members of Trinity United Methodist Church will embrace these past few weeks of personal testimonials, our Church will become an active center of ministry supported with resources of people educated in the Faith and giving not out of obligation but of appreciation for Gods grace in their lives. To me, our church is more than just a building, its a community of faith and action where we can see the face of Jesus Christ in the face of all its members.

Stewardship is a ministry of hope and faith that requires work, prayer and understanding to make it succeed. Through it, we all can become even better stewards of the church and help lead and prepare all people to accept and embrace a greater role in our church. Together, we will endeavor to continue the Mission of Jesus Christ and grow closer to the example He provides.

In closing I would just like to say that as a young boy growing up in North Augusta, I used to collect Coke Cola bottles and return them to the grocery store for money. Then one day I picked up a bottle with a strange slogan on it: It read, no deposit; no return. If you put nothing in, you get nothing back! Those four words have remained a constant companion of mine through the years. It reminds me that life is like that- your marriage, your children, your job and most importantly, your relationship with Jesus Christ. No Deposit. No Return!
