Why Me, Lord?

Why Me, Lord?

Have you ever asked that question? Why me Lord? I seriously doubt that I have to remind any of you that life is not fair---bad things happen to good people, just ask Job. Innocent people die, children go to bed hungry, hard working people lose their jobs, generous givers suffer financial crisis, and on and on I could go when it comes to the truths about life.

So, how does one deal with the fact that life is not fair? How do we, as Christians, respond to those who are our friends and family that suffer injustice at no fault of their own? And how are we supposed to act when disaster strikes at us? How is our faith in God expected to work when the unexpected challenges our health, home and happiness?

I dare say we won't find the answers on the Psychic Hotline. However, there is one source that I truly believe seeks to offer us comfort and consolation, if not all the answers we need, when life drops a bomb on us. Surely, it's God's Word, the Bible that can bring us hope and some sense of satisfaction when we face hard times such as many are today and who have and will face such trials and tribulations we humans are exposed to from time to time.

Since this is the case, I want to invite you to join me and the rest of our church family these next several weeks in worship as we explore the Book of Job and other relative scriptures that seek to speak to our struggles in life and those incidents that cause us to question our faith and God's presence, power and permissive will. This sermon series will focus primarily on Truths about Life: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Hopefully, together, we will learn how to better respond to life's unfairness and be a more effective witness to those who are watching how Christians react to pain and suffering, especially when it seems unjust.

Won't you please come and support your church as we strive to grow together in our understanding of God's goodness and mercy. Won't you please devote time to study Job's unpleasant and undesirable issues with life these next few weeks, so that we can learn how to better minister to ourselves and others when they and we go through tough times?

With Love from JESUS,

Pastor David
